Hi and welcome to Mind Mood Mommy. My name is Laura and I’m a mum to two beautiful girls; Phoebe (5) and Esmé (1). I love baking, singing, photography, glitter and Spain (Ibiza in particular!). I feel most at home by the sea (despite living in the concrete jungle that is Birmingham!) and would love nothing more than to retreat to a Mediterranean country and live by the sea as a free spirit!
I began this blog as I am hoping to break a lifelong family cycle of body confidence issues so that my girls grow up with a healthy, happy attitude to their bodies and their lives.
I have always struggled with my weight, but over the years, I have been on a constant diet and have managed to mostly maintain a healthy weight for my height. However, having my youngest daughter, I gained 6 stone. I’ve now got 2.5 stone left to lose and my plan is to do it but to change my mind as well as my body.
Dieting to me means deprivation. I no longer want that sort of negativity in my life.
My aim is to lose the remaining weight simply by cooking from scratch and exercising. I plan to try as many new recipes as I can, cook them, review them and share them with you on my Recipes page. I also intend to continue and build upon my exercise by walking, yoga, pilates and gym ball exercises.
I have no idea what the outcome will be of this, but I am committed to it and I’m hoping that you’ll join me on my journey!
